Apples / Oranges Interpretations

This week's challenge was Apples / Oranges and was probably a bit of a stretch, I think. I know I had a hard time coming up with something. Some of you were literal and others weren't. The interpretations are, as usual, all wonderful!

Apples / Oranges

You've heard that phrase about comparing apples to oranges, right? Well, that's this week's 2 Things Challenge: Apples / Oranges. I suppose another descriptor for this would be similar / dissimilar. Either way, I know we'll come up with great interpretations.

This week's challenge was admittedly odd: Bent / Straight, but I think everyone who participated did a great job finding ways to interpret this one!

Participants this week are: Lisa, Diane, Janet, Rob, Frances (here and here), and Maya.

And while these weren't submitted as interpretations for this week, I do want to highlight this photo by Debi and call attention to Virginia's current blog header and her entry today, kicking off her trip to Paris. Both of these photos and the header, along with those who contributed their interpretations, do a great job portraying this week's theme.

If I missed anyone, please leave a comment here and I'll add a link to your photos.

UPDATE - 11.17.08: Maya added another photo to this week's interpretations. Check it out here.

UPDATE - 11.19.08: Frances called my attention to an interpretation by Bev. Check it out here. Thank you, Frances, and my apologies to Bev! Sorry for the oversight.

Note

Just a quick note about this week's two things challenge, Saturday / Sunday: I've had a couple of folks express concern about whether they'll be able to interpret this week's challenge and post in time, especially because Sunday is the deadline and Sunday is part of the challenge. I won't post results until very late on Sunday evening to give people a chance to photograph and post their interpretations.

Hope that helps with this challenge and relieves your stress! And now I've got to get cracking. I have yet to photograph my ideas for this challenge!

This week's Two Things Challenge was Music / Note. All of the contributions to this challenge are excellent and very creative. And, I think for the first time in 2TC history, someone wrote a poem for this week's challenge. That honor goes to Bev and here are her lovely words:

Harmony of the Spheres

Music is emotion
It strikes the deepest chord
The passions of Puccini
The march that provokes the sword
The tender love in lullaby
What has this to do with rote
Mysteriously at its essence
Mathematical patterns of the note
