Holiday Challenge: Soft/Brilliant

The challenge for New Year's Day is: Soft/Brilliant.  The only catch is the interpretation should have some sort of holiday perspective.

This challenge will end in at 12:00 Noon CDT on Sunday, January 1, 2012.  HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!  Wow, time flies.  Remember, anyone can join! Just post your entries--as few or as many as you'd like--on your blog and leave us a comment here. All media are welcome--paintings, photography, collages, drawings, sculpture, poetry, movie clips, whatever you'd like.

And as a teaser, the next challenge will be:  Forsaken/Empty.

Apple/Art Interpretations

Weekly Challenge: Apples/Art

The challenge for this week is: Apples/Art.

This challenge will end in at 12:00 Noon CDT on Sunday, December 18, 2011.  Remember, anyone can join! Just post your entries--as few or as many as you'd like--on your blog and leave us a comment here. All media are welcome--paintings, photography, collages, drawings, sculpture, poetry, movie clips, whatever you'd like.

Vivian suggested we have a challenge with a holiday theme, so here's my proposal.  I know you and I will be busy over the next few weeks, so for the holiday challenge we will have a two week challenge of the random words that came up in my spreadsheet, but you should interpret them from a holiday perspective.  Those two words are: Soft/Brilliant.  Should be able to get something for those between now an New Year's Day.  That will be the deadline for Soft/Brilliant, but like this week, it may be a little into the new year before those results are published.  In the meantime don't forget Apples/Art for next week.

Full/Feminine Interpretations

Our challenge this week was Full/Feminine.  Unique and very nice interpretations came from Diane, Larry, Susan, Vivian, and Miss Mouse.  Thanks to each of you, and if I missed someone, please leave me a comment.

Weekly Challenge: Card/Blue Postponed

Well, since no one (except Diane) was ready for this challenge today (including me), and I messed up the date anyway, I'm going to give us more time.  This coming week promises to be a very busy one for probably everyone, sooooo, let's set a new date of 12:00 CST, December 4, 2011.  That is a Sunday, but a couple of weeks out to allow for our procrastination and the holidays.  Remember, anyone can join in any way they want.
Thanks for your patience, and Diane, I'll remember yours when the time comes.

And as a teaser, the challenge for the following week will be: Bubbly/Flat.

P.S.  I'm running out of the suggestions I received a few weeks ago, but someone said we should re-use some of the old challenges to get new interpretations.  Sounds good to me, but I thought I might shake it up a little by taking the first and second words from two independent randomly chosen previous challenges (unless it just seems utterly ridiculous when I pull them out of the hat).  We'll see in a couple of weeks how that goes.

Art/Graffiti Interpretations

Our challenge for this week was Art/Graffiti.  We definitely got some art and we got some graffiti, and we got some that are perhaps both.  Thanks to Diane, Vivian, Miss Mouse, and me (Eeyore) for their interpretations.  If I missed anyone, please leave me a comment, and we'd love to have some others join us in our little challenge.

Weekly (sort of) Challenge: Stranger/Friend

The challenge for this week is: Stranger/Friend.

I'm running quite late this week, so I'm going to give myself and, consequently, everyone else a little more time. Therefore, this challenge will end at 12:00 Noon CDT on Sunday, April 10, 2011. Remember, anyone can join! Just post your entries--as few or as many as you'd like--on your blog and leave us a comment here. All media are welcome--paintings, photography, collages, drawings, sculpture, poetry, movie clips, whatever you'd like.

And as a teaser, the challenge for the next week will be: Interior/Exterior.

As a note, I'm starting to have a little trouble coming up with original challenges, and my interpretations sometimes seem to suffer from preconceptions I had when I made the challenge up to start with, even getting mechanical instead of creative.  Also, participation seems to have fallen off to just myself and a couple of other regulars.  Perhaps my challenges are getting a little too uninteresting, or they come too frequently,  and I could use some help.  Therefore, I would appreciate suggestions from participants, and maybe some of those other 52 followers who haven't participated lately.  Please email any suggestions (for challenges, frequency, volunteers to host for a while, or whatever) to me at larrymathews@bellsouth.net.

Song/Line Interpretations

Sorry I'm late posting this week's interpretations, it's been a little bit hectic around here.  While we only had three interpretations this week, I think they are good ones.  They came from Diane, Vivian, and me, Eeyore.  Since I'm so late, I don't think I missed anyone, but if I did, let me know.
