Joint / Venture

This week's challenge is Joint / Venture and was suggested by Maya. I thought I'd start something new this week and provide a link to Merriam-Webster's as a way of stimulating your creative juices. Just click on each word in this week's challenge to get a definition. Or, go rogue and define it yourself!

This challenge ends on 19:00 UTC Sunday December 7, 2008.

That is Sunday noon EST, 11 am CST, 9 am PST, 7 pm in the UK, and Monday 8 am in New Zealand. And lest this sound strict, you know we would be pleased at any time to have your entry. We really aren't rule-oriented.

Remember, anyone can join! Just post your entries--as few or as many as you'd like--on your blog and leave us a comment here. All media are welcome--paintings, photography, collages, drawings, sculpture, poetry, whatever you'd like.

And, as a teaser for the week following, the challenge will be: Urban / Art.

Apples / Oranges Interpretations

This week's challenge was Apples / Oranges and was probably a bit of a stretch, I think. I know I had a hard time coming up with something. Some of you were literal and others weren't. The interpretations are, as usual, all wonderful!

We've also had a couple of new people join us. Welcome to Brian in Minnesota and Dan in Texas. In addition to their contributions to this week's challenge, Dan has also provided an additional interpretation for last week's; you can see it here.

This week's contributors are: Rob, Serena, Diane (here and here), Tash, Brian, Dan, Janet, Maya, and Frances.

If I missed anyone, please leave a comment and I'll add a link to your interpretation.

Apples / Oranges

You've heard that phrase about comparing apples to oranges, right? Well, that's this week's 2 Things Challenge: Apples / Oranges. I suppose another descriptor for this would be similar / dissimilar. Either way, I know we'll come up with great interpretations.

As usual, this challenge ends on 19:00 UTC Sunday November 30, 2008.

And, as a teaser for the week following, the challenge will be: Joint / Venture.

Green / Yellow Interpretations

This week's 2 Things Challenge was Green / Yellow. A few of us participated in this one and the results are a lot of fun!

This week's interpreters are: Tash, Janet, Maya, Rob, Bev, and Diane. Good job everyone!

And though this entry isn't labeled a 2 Things Challenge, Virginia over at Birmingham Daily Photo has a lovely photo befitting this challenge. Check out Les Trois Bouteilles.

If I missed anyone, please leave a comment and I'll add a link to your blog.

UPDATE - 11.24.08: Frances posted her interpretation of this challenge today. Visit her here. She also pointed out a lovely painting by Neda that includes the colors from this challenge. See it here. Thanks, Frances!

UPDATE - 11.30.08: Dan, in McKinney, Texas, contributed an interpretation to Green / Yellow. Check it out here. Welcome, Dan!

Bent / Straight Interpretations

This week's challenge was admittedly odd: Bent / Straight, but I think everyone who participated did a great job finding ways to interpret this one!

Participants this week are: Lisa, Diane, Janet, Rob, Frances (here and here), and Maya.

And while these weren't submitted as interpretations for this week, I do want to highlight this photo by Debi and call attention to Virginia's current blog header and her entry today, kicking off her trip to Paris. Both of these photos and the header, along with those who contributed their interpretations, do a great job portraying this week's theme.

If I missed anyone, please leave a comment here and I'll add a link to your photos.

UPDATE - 11.17.08: Maya added another photo to this week's interpretations. Check it out here.

UPDATE - 11.19.08: Frances called my attention to an interpretation by Bev. Check it out here. Thank you, Frances, and my apologies to Bev! Sorry for the oversight.

Note

Just a quick note about this week's two things challenge, Saturday / Sunday: I've had a couple of folks express concern about whether they'll be able to interpret this week's challenge and post in time, especially because Sunday is the deadline and Sunday is part of the challenge. I won't post results until very late on Sunday evening to give people a chance to photograph and post their interpretations.

Hope that helps with this challenge and relieves your stress! And now I've got to get cracking. I have yet to photograph my ideas for this challenge!
