Alliteration / Alike

This week's Two Things Challenge is Alliteration / Alike. This one might seem a little tough, but let's give it a stab anyway! For alliteration, two or more things that begin with or have the same sound. (Here's an example; see the third picture and caption and the comments in the series.) For alike, two or more things that are similar to one another. Good luck!

This challenge ends on 19:00 UTC Sunday June 1, 2008.

That is Sunday noon EST, 11 am CST, 9 am PST, 7 pm in the UK, and Monday 8 am in New Zealand. And lest this sound strict, you know we would be pleased at any time to have your entry. We really aren't rule-oriented.

Remember, anyone can join! Just post your entries--as few or as many as you'd like--on your blog and leave us a comment here. All media are welcome--paintings, photography, collages, drawings, sculpture, whatever you'd like.

In the Sky / On the Ground Interpretations

Last week's challenge was In the Sky / On the Ground. Everyone had great photographs again. This week's contributors were: Rob at Dusty Lens, Andrea at The Way I See It, Diane at Diane Clancy's Art, Janet at D.C. Confidential, and Maya at Maya Photography-A Day In a Life.

Good job, everyone! Thanks again for your participation.

Confidential, Bev at On Another Planet, and Andrea at The Way I See It.

Thanks to everyone who contributed this week!

Noisy / Peaceful

This week's Two Things Challenge is Noisy / Peaceful and is loosely based on a suggestion from Andrea and the list a few of you contributed to back in March. If you have an idea for two things you'd like to challenge us to interpret, please leave a comment here.

This challenge ends on 19:00 UTC Sunday May 18, 2008.

That is Sunday noon EST, 1pm CST, 7 pm in the UK, and Monday 8 am in New Zealand. And lest this sound strict, you know we would be pleased at any time to have your entry. We really aren't rule-oriented.

Mother / Land Interpretations

This week's challenge was Mother / Land. A few of us participated and you can see the results above. This week's contributors, based on comments, were Janet of D.C. Confidential, Diane of Diane Clancy's Art Blog, and Frances of Holy Carpet. Andrea of The Way I See It also posted a tribute to her mom (I'm not 100% sure if she meant it to be part of this week's interpretations, so I'm only including a link.) If I've left anyone out, let me know and I'll update this entry to include your interpretation.

Mother / Land

This week's Two Things Challenge is Mother / Land. Next Sunday is Mother's Day in the U.S., Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. (It's also Pentacost in the Eastern Orthodox traditions, but I stray.) If you'd like to honor your mother or a special caretaker or nurturer in your life or show us what you love about being a mom and you want to interpret land, you can do both with this week's challenge!

This challenge ends on 19:00 UTC Sunday May 11, 2008.

That is Sunday noon EST, 1pm CST, 7 pm in the UK, and Monday 8 am in New Zealand. And lest this sound strict, you know we would be pleased at any time to have your entry. We really aren't rule-oriented.

Remember anyone can join! Just post your entries--as few or as many as you'd like--on your blog and leave us a comment here. All media are welcome--paintings, photography, collages, drawings, sculpture, whatever you'd like.

Rough / Smooth Interpretations

This week's challenge was Rough / Smooth and everyone who contributed did a great job with their interpretations! This week's interpreters are: Katie at Rustic Stains, Diane of Diane Clancy's Art, Janet of D.C. Confidential, Frances of Holy Carpet, Andrea of The Way I See It and Maya of Maya Photography (here and here.) Welcome to our newest contributors!

Shameless and completely unsolicited plug here: with Maya's entry, you can either click on the two links above individually or just go straight to her blog as a whole. I recommend the latter, because right now she has a picture of the most adorable puppy on her blog. (Yeah, I confess, I'm a sucker for a cute puppy!)

As always, good job everyone. And, if I left anyone out, please let me know and I'll add your contribution to the interpretations.
